The LanguageLine Solutions Story
The idea for LanguageLine Solutions began when Jeff Munks and Mike McFerrin, founders of LanguageLine Solutions, were inspired to develop a more effective method for communication with non-English proficient individuals.
While serving as a police officer in San Jose, CA, Jeff responded to an urgent call one night from a man who didn’t speak English. He arrived at the scene uncertain of the situation and any potential danger awaiting him. Luckily, he was able to resolve the confusion and call an ambulance for the man’s son who was having trouble breathing.
Although Jeff was able to help the man, he knew others might not always be so fortunate in the same scenario and was determined to find a better way to connect individuals regardless of their native language.
Since then, LanguageLine Solutions has become the leader in over-the-phone, face-to-face and videoconference interpreting and document translation services.
With over 200 languages offered and 24/7, year-round support, LanguageLine Solutions continues to grow as a global presence, with locations across 18 time zones, and throughout the United States, the UK, Canada, Mexico, Puerto Rico, Costa Rica, and the Dominican Republic.
