This Notice provides a comprehensive overview of the reasons we collect information from you and why we collect that information.
LanguageLine Solutions (“LanguageLine”) is a self-certified participant in the EU-U.S. Privacy Shield program. You can access a list of participating organizations at the following web address: https://www.privacyshield.gov/list.
LanguageLine is committed to the Principles listed in the EU-U.S. Privacy Shield Framework and will subject itself to those principles when handling Personal Data from the European Economic Area.
WHAT WE COLLECT AND WHY:
Customers: When we form relationships with our customers, they may ask us to gather information from their employees before placing a call with an interpreter. Customers ask us to collect that information for billing purposes. Such information can include an ID number, a badge number, a work code, a billing code, or information about the employee’s position, work group, or department. That information is stored in a Salesforce application and in LanguageLine’s corporate headquarters for billing purposes. We do not sell this information to third parties.
End-Users: End-Users do not need to provide Personal Data to LanguageLine’s interpreters as a pre-condition to using LanguageLine’s services. During a call, End-Users may incidentally provide Personal Data to our interpreters so our interpreters can facilitate a dialogue between the End-User and the Customer’s representative. LanguageLine does not record these calls and does not collect any Personal Data provided by End-Users.

None of those entities sell that data to third parties. Despite transferring that information to those entities, LanguageLine accepts liability associated with transferring this information to them. LanguageLine remains responsible and liable under the EU-U.S. Privacy Shield Framework if those entities process information in a manner inconsistent with the EU-U.S. Privacy Shield Framework’s Principles unless LanguageLine proves that it is not responsible for nonconforming processing activities.
