The Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) have consistently posted quality ratings for Medicare Part C and Part D plans.  These ratings, are on a scale of one to five stars, five being the best.

Ultimately, a plan's Star Rating will impact their level of reimbursement, with high performance plans rewarded and low performing plans penalized.

What many don't realize, is that CMS’ study presents an opportunity to help plans improve their Star Ratings.  Unlike some of the other performance measures – such as those measuring beneficiary health outcomes, improving patient experience and access are areas that should be easier and more manageable for Plans to control and improve.

An important part of the CMS Study is the Accuracy and Accessibility Study that includes providing services to Limited English Proficient prospective beneficiaries.
