The LanguageLine AI Translation App has received an Innovative Technology designation from Vizient®, the company announced.

Vizient is the largest healthcare performance improvement company in the country. LanguageLine exhibited the LanguageLine AI Translation App at the Vizient Innovative Technology Exchange on September 24 in Las Vegas.

As part of the Innovative Technology Program, healthcare experts serving on Vizient's client-led councils evaluate select products and technologies for their ability to improve clinical care, enhance patient and workforce safety, and strengthen the operational performance of healthcare organizations.

The Innovative Technology designation is awarded to solutions that these experts identify as having the potential to deliver meaningful benefits for both patient care and healthcare operations.

The LanguageLine AI Translation App helps healthcare organizations deliver timely, accurate written communications to patients with limited English proficiency. Through a secure, AI-powered platform, healthcare staff can quickly translate documents, forms, discharge instructions, educational materials, and other written content, helping improve understanding, expand access to information, and streamline multilingual communication workflows.

Following the Vizient Innovative Technology Exchange, Vizient provider groups conducted in-depth evaluations of the LanguageLine AI Translation App and recommended it for the Innovative Technology designation based on its potential to deliver value and drive innovation across healthcare organizations.

"We're honored to receive Vizient's Innovative Technology Designation for the LanguageLine AI Translation App," LanguageLine President and CEO Simon Yoxon-Grant said. " As healthcare organizations work to meet the needs of increasingly diverse communities, they need practical tools that help them communicate at scale without sacrificing quality or security. Our translation app was designed to deliver the best of all worlds, helping providers deliver multilingual information more efficiently while expanding access for the patients they serve."

Vizient serves a diverse healthcare membership that includes academic medical centers, pediatric facilities, community hospitals, integrated health systems, and non-acute care providers, representing approximately $156 billion in annual purchasing volume. Through its Innovative Technology Program, Vizient works with client-led councils and task forces to identify products with the potential to advance patient care, improve operational performance, and drive meaningful innovation across healthcare. Products recognized as innovative may be eligible for contract opportunities outside the traditional competitive bid process.
