Scott W. Klein, President and Chief Executive Officer

Scott is a seasoned executive who has united LanguageLine around an audacious goal: to create a world in which language and cultural barriers no longer exist. His passion toward this cause has led him to be engaged with all of LanguageLine’s inner-workings. He has deftly invested in new technologies that enhance the lives of limited-English speakers, the Deaf, and the Hard of Hearing, while also improving LanguageLine’s financial performance. With greatly accelerated revenues, the company was acquired by Teleperformance in 2016. Scott has a passion for acquiring and nurturing talent, and during his tenure has built a leadership roster that is unsurpassed in our industry. Scott is also President of Specialized Services for Teleperformance.

Prior to LanguageLine, Scott was CEO of SuperMedia, Inc., transitioning it from a Yellow Pages publisher to the nation’s largest ad agency for small and medium-sized businesses. Prior to that, Scott served as President and CEO of Information Resources, Inc. (IRI), a leading market research firm; President of the Consumer Industries, Retail & Energy division of Electronic Data Systems Corporation (EDS); President of PCMall, Inc., a $1.2 billion telesales, catalogue, and Internet reseller of computer-related products; Executive V.P and COO for PrimeSource Building Products; as well as leadership roles with Pepsico Inc. and Procter & Gamble Company. A graduate of Syracuse University, Scott holds a bachelor’s degree in accounting.

Dave Bethea

Dave Bethea, Chief Sales Officer

Before joining LanguageLine Solutions, Dave was Executive VP – Sales at SuperMedia where he led multidimensional sales divisions generating more than $1 billion in revenue, with over 1,200 teammates servicing a market of 360,000 clients. Prior to his appointment at SuperMedia, Dave served as regional Vice President of Operations for PrimeSource Building Products Inc., the nation’s largest independent distributor of building products with annual revenues of $1.3 billion. Dave also served as Vice President of national accounts for PrimeSource with a six-year track record managing its sales force and portfolio of clients. Dave holds a business management degree from California State University, Fullerton.

Suzanne Franks

Suzanne Franks, Chief Marketing Officer

Suzanne’s passion for languages has been a lifelong adventure. Graduating with honors from Georgetown University with a major in Foreign Languages and Linguistics, she has tri-lingual experience in both speaking and writing in Spanish, French, and English. For more than 30 years, Suzanne held several positions of increasing responsibilities for SuperMedia, including leadership roles from Regional Vice President of Sales to Executive Director of Marketing. Her tenure afforded her the opportunity to train others in the art of presentation speaking skills as well as generating many millions of dollars in sales and delivering ground-breaking marketing innovations. In 2013, she joined LanguageLine Solutions as Director of Marketing and quickly rose to Chief Marketing Officer.

Jim Boutcher

Jim Boutcher, Chief Technology Officer

With three decades of experience developing communications technology solutions, Jim serves as the senior technical and product leader responsible for the development and delivery of language access solutions for LanguageLine Solutions. Jim joined LanguageLine in 2014 and has been directly involved in the development of our secure cloud-based Olympus platform and numerous mobile apps. Previously, Jim was the VP of Innovation at West Corporation, leading the engineering of a cloud multi-channel engagement platform and built one of the first remote agent call center solutions. Prior to this, Jim ran his own consulting firm implementing CRM solutions for numerous customers including Cisco Systems and Sprint PCS. Jim started his technology career in the US Air Force operating high-availability classified messaging networks.

Scott Merritt

Scott Merritt, Chief Operations Officer

As COO, Scott leads the company’s overall aspects of service delivery. With more than 17 years of global experience in successful customer-facing operations management, Scott’s diverse background includes executive leadership, business development, and proven execution capabilities. Prior to coming to LanguageLine, Scott had significant experience in strategic executive roles with operational and financial management in a wide variety of industries, including leadership experience at CTB McGraw Hill, Del Monte, Portola, Inc., NUMMI, and General Motors. Scott holds a Bachelor’s of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Toronto and a Masters in Engineering from McMaster University.
Bonaventura (Turie) Cavaliere

Bonaventura (Turie) Cavaliere, Chief Financial Officer

Turie has more than two decades of financial and accounting experience. After graduating with a Bachelor’s of Science degree in Accounting from the University of San Diego, Turie became a CPA during his tenure with one of the top accounting firms in the world, Deloitte. After joining LanguageLine in 2007, he has held a continuous succession of roles with increased levels of responsibility. In 2013, Turie was promoted to Controller where he was responsible for planning, strategy, and management of all accounting functions. Turie has been a key member of the LanguageLine team that has helped the company grow over 400 percent in the past decade. His accounting expertise, financial acumen, and operational experience made him the obvious choice for this critical role and as a member of the company’s Executive Team.
Frank A. Perry

Frank A. Perry, Chief Human Resources Officer

Frank Perry is a 30-year Senior HR executive with a strong emphasis in operations management and measurable success across domestic and international business industries. Frank is an expert at positioning the business to grow profits and is an effective motivator of productive organizations and management teams. Most recently, Frank was Senior V.P. of Human Resources for Lanoga Corporation, later ProBuild Holdings, the nation’s largest supplier of building materials with sales of $6 billion. He has managed full-service HR departments including an employee base of 23,500. Through his HR consulting practice, Perry Business Solutions, Frank has worked with such organizations as Habitat for Humanity, College Success Foundation, WA Mentoring, and Zion Prep Academy focusing on both non-profit and for profit organizations.
Weinberg

Steven Weinberg, Chief Legal Officer

Recognized consistently by U.S. News & World Report as a Best Lawyer in America, with similar rankings in other professional peer ranking organizations, Steve has spent four decades practicing law in the areas of litigation, domestic and international intellectual property and entertainment, telecommunications and media, software and digital technology, commercial contracting, and as general counsel and advisor to growing companies in a broad spectrum of industries. As Chief Legal Officer for LanguageLine, Steven oversees all legal-related aspects of the company, and in that role supports and enables business strategy and risk management. Prior to his current role, Steven built two successful law firms and was a partner in three well-known law firms. Over the course of his professional career, Steven has represented a number of the nation’s top corporations as advisor, counselor, negotiator, and litigator, and taught trademark, copyright, and negotiation at two law schools.

Vanessa Eke

Vanessa Eke, Vice President and Managing Director

Vanessa joined LanguageLine Solutions as Managing Director and Vice President for UK and Europe in 2006. Following her Honours degree in English Literature, she embarked upon her professional career, first training with Peat Marwick in London (now KPMG) and then moving to VNU Business Publications where she enjoyed a successful career spanning sales, marketing, and operational management roles. This broad base of experience led to her role of Commercial Director for Financial Times Business where she gained further international and dot com experience. Building upon this base, she was invited to become Commercial Director and, subsequently, Managing Director for Nielsen Media Research UK and AdEx International. Vanessa is a regular speaker at conferences and seminars spanning both the public and commercial sectors.
