LanguageLine Solutions, the global leader in on-demand language access, is proud to announce the addition of French Canadian to its industry-leading Video Interpreting service, now available 24/7 through the LanguageLine App.

This expansion comes in response to client feedback and reflects LanguageLine’s commitment to supporting Canada’s growing linguistic diversity. With immigration on the rise and more than 9 million Canadians having a mother tongue other than English, the need for culturally aware, multilingual communication has never been greater.

Canada is undergoing a remarkable linguistic transformation, fueled by a resurgence in immigration and a steadily diversifying population. Today, over 215 languages are spoken across the country, with one in five households speaking a language other than English. The proportion of foreign-born residents has reached a historic high of 15 percent, and by 2036, nearly half of all Canadians are expected to be immigrants or the children of immigrants.

LanguageLine works with hundreds of clients across Canada in sectors including:

By adding French Canadian (also known as Québécois French) to its video interpreting lineup, LanguageLine empowers organizations to better engage with French-speaking communities across Canada, including those in Quebec, Eastern and Northern Ontario, New Brunswick, Manitoba, and emerging populations in Alberta and British Columbia.

French Canadian joins a robust roster of nearly 50 languages available for interpretation via video, including American Sign Language (ASL) and British Sign Language (BSL). Other recent additions include Brazilian Portuguese (24/7) and Uzbek (Monday–Friday, 5:00 a.m.–10:00 p.m. PT), with Pashto video access now expanded to 12:00 a.m.–8:00 p.m. PT on weekdays.

“Video Interpreting is often a lifeline in health care, public safety, and customer service,” said Simon Yoxon-Grant, President and CEO of LanguageLine Solutions. “Adding French Canadian to this service supports our mission to bridge language gaps wherever they exist across Canada.”

LanguageLine Video Interpreting offers on-demand access to professional interpreters in seconds, improving trust, reducing misunderstandings, and enhancing service outcomes for Limited English Proficient (LEP) and Deaf or Hard of Hearing individuals.
